Pre Market 07:30: US New Record Highs as Vaccine Rolls Out. Brexit Microwave Ready?
Ftse 100 futures signal an open 25 points higher at 6587 from yesterday's close of 6558. UK markets have been flat to negative over the past few days awaiting the outcome from the Brexit talks which look increasingly favourable despite the pantomime rhetoric on both sides. An agreement on Northern Ireland and the planned trip of PM Johnson to Brussels later today are being read as positive in favour of an agreement in what is likely to prove as political posturing before snapping victory from the jaws of self imposed defeat.
US closed at record highs though up marginally on the day across the board : Asia followed suit while copper is confirming the overall bullishness. Gold pulled back respecting the upper trendline in play since the August highs while GBP languishes awaiting the Brussels outcome
Sentiment has the VIix lower around 21 and the F&G at extreme greed of 82
