Pre Market 07:30: 'Twas the Friday before Christmas .....

FTSE 100 futures suggest the cash will open 16  points lower around 6530 after the S&P in the US closed at a new record high

Indices

A strong bounce in GBP put pressure on the mega caps yesterday as the FTSE 100 closed  while the FTSE 250 rose 1.1% and the AIM 1.2%

Commodities

OIl is pulling back slightly at $51.4 in Brent. copper remains elevated at 355 with iron ore pushing towards the 155 level and still at record highs. Both gold and silver popped yesterday with gold pushing within a few dollars of the 1900 level before pulling back to 1882. The breakout in gold was highlighted in Wednesday's report

Sentiment

Quadruple witching in options expiration today may result in some turbulence given this is the last Friday before Christmas week. VIX remains unchanged around the 22 level  : F&G index is at greed 65

Economic Calendar

In the  economic calendar UK retail sales beat expectations  while German PPI was also improved
